“Mission Tun Up!” June 12, 2025 Update #2

Since Wednesday, June 4, 2025, the Uganda mission team has been engaged with a range of mainly training activities that I will list for you. The aim of this mission has been to build capacity in the areas of Pastoral Care, Marriage Enrichment, Children’s Ministry and Christian Leadership. The experiences so far have left us humbled at the tremendous hospitality we have received, amazed at the number of persons who have attended the training events and excited about the interest and response of the participants to what we have offered. In Jamaica terms, “Mission Tun Up” So here is what we have been up to.

Wednesday, June 4: Sessions on Marriage Enrichment in Namayingo (118 persons attended)
Thursday, June 5: Training in Christian Leadership for the same participants in Namayingo
Friday, June 6: Talks on Christian Leadership & Marriage for pastors in Wangobo (100 persons)
Participated in open air “Mega Crusade” in the community in Wangobo
Saturday June 7: Youth Leadership Conference in Busia (89 young People)
Sunday June 8: We went in pairs to 4 congregations at which one of us was the preacher
In the evening we were guests of Bishop Ojiambo for dinner
Monday June 9: Busia where we are staying is a border town between Uganda & Kenya. On Monday we took a day trip across the border.
Tuesday June 10: We divided into two groups to conduct training sessions in 2 towns in the District of Tororo. One group did training in Children’s Ministry in Magodesi (107 attended)

The other were in Mirikit looking at Pastoral Care & Counselling (
Wednesday, June 11: Christian Leadership sessions in Magodesi (119 persons attended)
