It has been just over a week since we left Jamaica for Uganda to participate in Uganda Mission 2025. Without the financial support of many of you, this 8-member mission team would not be here. Moreover, without the prayers of so many of you, the mission would not be progressing as well as it has.

The journey to Uganda took the majority of the team from Kingston to New York, then to Nairobi, and finally to Entebbe, Uganda. One team member had to take a roundabout route from Kingston to Panama, to Istanbul, then to Kigali and finally to Entebbe. The team is made up of myself, Reilette Allen, Paul & Carolyn Downer, Jason Notice, Sherneika Jackson-Butler, Sadeka Graham-Chisholm and Rev. Norlene Jackson. Jason was first to arrive in the early hours of Sunday, June 1, 2025. Paul & Carolyn landed later the same day. The team of 5 that I journeyed with arrived in Entebbe just before 8 pm.

Each of us were picked up by transportation arranged by our hosts and Pastor Peter Ohira, one of the local coordinators, was at the airport to meet us when my group arrived. After a stop at a local KFC in Entebbe, we were taken to a guest house which, because it was inexpensive, did not offer all the amenities we desired and expected. But I am thankful the disappointing first night did not dampen the spirits of the team members and things have just kept progressing positively since then. After a delightful breakfast prepared by Helen, the wife of our airport pick-up driver, we were off to start our 6 or 7 hour bus ride to Busia. We were tired when we eventually got to the Meltonia Luxury Inn, our home in Busia for the next 3 weeks but we were pleased with the facilities and when Wednesday came around for us to begin our first training conference, we were rested and ready to go. Sometimes our experience of doing the Lord’s work will have uncomfortable patches, but thank God for the joys and fulfilment that one also experiences on the Journey. Isn’t life a bit like that too? Continue to follow me as I share more of the stages along the Mission Uganda 2025 journey
